OKTOBERFEST 2017 - Tickets now on sale!

It's time again for OKTOBERFEST, the biggest Maltose Falcons party of the year! 

We're returning to the good ol' DAV in Woodland Hills to celebrate, where we'll enjoy their large yard for games, a pool for cooling off, a stage for the Maltose Falcons Brews Band to play (yes, they will be there!), and plenty of shade and/or sun! We will have an outdoor bar stocked with some of the finest adult beverages you and your fellow Falcons brew and save just for this very event (including shop brews you may have participated in)!

DAV has a large open space for games like cornhole, or keg toss and stein holding competitions, or chucking around a frisbee or a softball, lots of picnic tables for board games, and more!  Lunch, snacks, dinner & breakfast menus to be announced soon!

We'll also have our annual Oktoberfest homebrew competition! This is way less formal than our other comps. One entry per person (limited to first 16 entries). If you bring a keg, you can enter with samples thereof. No scoresheets. An esteemed panel of judges (or as esteemed as we can manage) will sample brews and point to a top 3 overall.

There will be plenty of homebrew, so if you're concerned about your ability to operate heavy machinery at the end of the night, there will be camping available on site. Lots of space for tents on the lawn, and some non-hook-up RV parking (fee is the same if you're bringing an RV, but if you are, email me or comment below so I can keep count).

(HOMEBREWED BEER ONLY - Commercial beer is not allowed in at the fest. This violates DAV's ABC permit.)

Please note that this Fest is an exclusive event for registered Falcon members and their guests (sorry, no pets) – all attendees must buy tickets on our website for the low low low price of:

$25 per person (or $10 for responsible DDs.)  

If you are bringing kegs, tell us in the comments below so we can plan the bar(s) accordingly.

9:00am - Set-up crew arrival
12:00pm - Party goers arrive
12:30pm - 5:30pm - Pool open!
2:00pm - Submit Oktofest Competition entries to Ed & John (Limited to first 16 entries)
2:30pm - Competition judging begins
3:30pm - 5:00pm - The Maltose Falcons Brews Band rocks out!
5:00pm - Keg toss competition! Prizes!
5:30pm - Dinner!
5:45pm - Announce Merlin Cup Winner
5:50pm - Announce Oktofest Competition winner (BOS will be awarded a prize!)
6:00pm - Board changeover announcement!
6:30pm - Stein holding competition! Prizes!
9:30pm-ish – Dead Palates Society (ssshhhhh!)
Sunday Morning – Breakfast!
12:00pm Sunday – Depart DAV grounds
