TOaked Collaboration Brew Day

 

Please join us for a collaboration brew day between the Maltose Falcons and the Thousand Oaked Homebrewers! This is a great opportunity to get to know the brewers of your neighboring club, makes some awesome beer, and bring something interesting to SCHF.

You can sign up to participate in the brew, or you can just hang out and still have a good time (attendants usually bring a bunch of beer to be sampled during the brew session, so it's not just all about business.) Since we will be using the Maltose Falcons' club system, which has an output of 40 gallons, this is also a great opportunity to experience brewing at a larger scale then what most homebrewers are used to.

In order to participate, you must:

  • Have the capacity to ferment 5 gallons;
  • Be willing to add fruit post-fermentation;
  • Send your keg to SCHF (you don't have to be there in person, although it'd be better!)
  • Be a member in good standing with either the Maltose Falcons or the Thousand Oaked Homebrewers;
  • Use the sign up feature at the bottom of this page. Emailing us won't do.

We will be brewing a saison. Each crew member will take 5 gallons home to ferment and add fruit to it. Yeast will be provided by the organizers. Fruit is still TBD, but we'd like to get our hands on less common types of berries, with each brewer using a different type. This page will be updated when we get more info.

There are 7 spots available for brewers. We want roughly equal representation of the two clubs. There will be a wait list, sign up early to secure your spot!

Costs are still TBD, this page will be updated as soon as they are known. We'd like to keep the cost below $15 per person.
