California Common Beer

" Mort's Steamer "

For 5 gallons:

Grains: 5 lbs. Klages pale malt.  1/2 lb. 6-row pale malt.  1 lb. 40
L. crystal malt. 

Extracts: 3.3 lbs. Gold syrup malt extract.

Adjuncts: None

Hops: 1.3 oz. Northern Brewer flowers, boiled 60 min.  0.5 oz.
Cascade pellets, boiled 10 min.  0.5 oz. Chinook flowers, boiled 10
min.  0.5 oz. Cascade pellets, dry hopped. 

Yeast: American Ale Yeast. 

Water:  Bottled

Procedure: Mash grains at 155 F. for 60 min.  Sparge with water at
170 F.  Total boil time 90 min. with hop additions as listed above.
Ferment two-stage at 65 F.  Primed with corn sugar at bottling.  O.G.
1.048, F.G. 1.012.
