European Ale

Altbier, " Angeles Alt "

For 5 gallons:

Grains: 8 oz. 50 L. German crystal malt.  8 oz. 18 L. German crystal
malt. 

Extracts: 6 lbs. Alexander amber extract. 

Adjuncts: None

Hops: 0.8 oz. Hallertauer Magnum, 11% A.A., boiled 60 min.  1 oz.
Spalt, 2.4% A.A., boiled 30 min.  0.5 oz. Spalt, boiled 5 min.

Yeast: Edme ale yeast

Water: Not Specified

Procedure: Steep grains at 130 F. for 20 min., drain and add
drainage to boil.  Total boil time 60 min. with hop additions as
listed above.  Ferment primary 7 days at 72 F., secondary 7 days at
72 F.  Bottle with 3/4 cup corn sugar to prime.  O.G. 1.042, F.G.
1.012.
