First Place, Class 10, California Common Beer

"Mort's Steamer"

For 5 gallons:

Grains: 5 lbs. Klages. 1 lb. Crystal 40 L. 0.5 lb. domestic 6-row barley.

Extracts: 3.3 lbs. Gold Syrup Extract.

Hops: 1.3 oz. Northern Brewer, 8.8% A.A., boiled 60 min. 0.5 oz. Cascade, 4.9% A.A., boiled 10 min. 0.5 oz. Chinook, 10.7% A.A., boiled 10 min. 0.5 oz. Cascade, dry hopped. Yeast: American Ale Yeast.

Water: Tap water.

Procedure: Mash 40 min. at 155 F. Total boil time 60 min. Ferment 2 stage at 65 F. O.G. 1.050, F.G. 1.014.
