Just pitched my yeast. (And my stirbar!)

I'll never learn.  Every time I make a starter on my stirplate, I manage to forget about that stirbar in the flask, and into the wort it goes.  And there it sits today, all alone in the inky blackness of the stout I just brewed.

See you in a few weeks, my little magnetic friend!

I stick a rare earth magnet

I stick a rare earth magnet under the flask before I pitch. Since I always decant before pitching I get reminded when I see the stirbar start rolling out.

yeah, had that happen more

yeah, had that happen more than once, but given the fact that I brewi n steel, I just leave the bar in place until I'm all done. Seems to leave the bar no worse for wear at least.

LOL    I keep an extra

LOL

I keep an extra HDD magnet with my yeast stuff.   I simply capture it from the outside before I pitch.   Once I pitched the bar and used the same HDD magnet to 'drag' the bar out.  You usually do it just once....   I suggest buying an extra stirbar.   Wait that's good advice... I think I'll do the same too.
