The Particulars
MB and Steve were kind enough to open their home to the Falcons (brave and trusting souls). Steve proved to be an effective doorman and toll taker. Mondo pizzas and salad were served and much beer was tasted.
In addition to the beers listed in the offical tasting list, on tap was a supply of Hollywood Blonde, Hollywood Red, the test batch of the Falcons 25th Anniversy IPA, and the special treat Cask Conditioned Hollywood Red.

Lagunitas IPA
Lagunitas Brewing, Petaluma CA
IPA
Notes : Cloudy orange. Dry, light bodied IPA with some sweetness. Enough hops but lacks flavor hops. Some balance but not as good as I remember both on tap and in the bottle in Santa Rosa.

Original Flag Porter
Darwin Brewery, Durham, England
Porter
Notes : Clear ruby brown color with nice conditioning. Kettle caramel and port wine aroma. Some oxidization. To me this has some of the intrinsic porter character I look for. Like a Taddy porter. The general body and strength is entry level for a porter, it should be pumped up a notch. It is supposed to be brewed with yeast from the year 1825.
Rates : 2.75 Falcons
Doug's Brew #88 (Old Rocket Fuel)
Brewed 11/25/95
Old Ale
Notes : Brewed in 1995. An Old Peculiar clone. Brown/red tones. Nicer port aroma than the Flag Porter and less oxidized too. Has the expected raisiny pruny character. This beer has transitioned to a barley port.
