Every brewer wonders just how good their brews are and how much their friends are snowing them when they guzzle down their brews. Blind judged competitions provide the best tool to get fair feedback on your brews. Every year the Falcons run four competitions: The Doug King Memorial Speciality Lager and Experimental Beers Competition; The Maltose Falcons Mayfaire; The Los Angeles County Fair Homebrewing Competition and Oktoberfest. Yes, we're persnicktety people and we keep our own guidelines. While substantially the same as the BJCP guidelines (in fact Falcons have been on previous BJCP guideline committees), we do have a few differences and tend to change more often.
